1939 Leica IIIb Rangefinder With Carrying Case & Accessories. The 1939 Leica IIIb (G – 1938) is similar to the IIIa except that the viewfinder / rangefinder windows are placed immediately next to each other and the diopter adjustment is now a lever under the rewind knob. This is the last of the pre-war Leica’s. The serial number of the camera is’323522′. VIDOM viewfinder (in its cardboard tube – this has one end cap). Summar f=5cm 1:2 No 484714 (made in 1938) lens with yellow filter. Elmar f=9 cm 1:4 No 453878 lens with both end cover (in an open ended red cardboard tube – no end caps). A Cenei 36 hood. The camera comes in its original leather transport case stamped G. To the top and a repair receipt dated 4th September 1993. The width of the camera is 5.5 inches (14 cm) and its height is 2.6 inches (6.7 cm). Its leather case width is 10.2 inches (26 cm), its depth is 6.2 inches (16 cm) and its height is 7.5 inches (19 cm). The set weighs 2.05 kg. The camera is in excellent used condition with minimum sings of wear. The Elmar lens has minimum signs of wear. One of its plastic lens covers has a chip. The viewfinder is excellent. The camera seems to work fine having excellent optics though it was not tested with a film. The case has minimum signs of wear. The leather is soft and almost undamaged. The only exception is some loss of finish on some of the pockets edges. The compartments walls are present. The zipper is unstitched on one side.
