1952/3 LEICA If Red Dial, FOKOS RANGEFINDER, CORRECT CASE (nr. Mint), + RED BOX
1952/3 LEICA If Red Dial and FOKOS RANGEFINDER. With CORRECT CASE nr. Mint, RED BOX & BROCHURES/INSTRUCTION BOOK. Is much less common that the IIIf, and it’s fun to display because you can mount any Leitz lens you want in it, then pair that with just about any rangefinder and any. Viewfinder from a folding frame type, to an optical sports finder, to a VIDOM or FOKOS, as shown here. This 1952/3 LEICA If RED DIAL shows slight signs of use, but overall is in very clean condition. Baseplate is virtually mint, just some very small bright marks. Top plate shows one bright mark below the serial number, and some wear on the accessory shoe plate and screws below the “Leica” engraving, but not on the shoe itself. It’s a simple job to replace or rechrome this plate. The strap lugs show signs of use, and the ASA plate in the wind-on knob is indistinct. There is one very small repair (barely visible), to the vulcanite adjacent to the flash connector, otherwise it’s perfect: complete, black and solidly mounted, no hollow spots. The 1/25 speed sometimes hangs up, but all the other speeds sound fine. The blinds look perfect. The FOKOS RANGEFINDER (in Feet) is very clean, and was last listed in 1966. There are only VERY slight marks and signs of age on its chrome. There are two distinct images, and it seems accurate. There’s just a trace of haze. The LEITZ CASE is near mint, lovely, very close to new condition. The FOKOS mounts in the top. The ORIGINAL RED BOX shows quite a lot of wear, mainly to the lid, and is from a IIIf which is, however, contemporaneous1951/52. There’s a 1954 INSTRUCTION BOOK , 56 pages, some marks on the covers, but otherwise excellent and complete. A 1950 LEICA LENS BROCHURE , 16 pages, nice shape except for some small initials on the cover. Lastly, a 1951 IIIF FLASH BROCHURE , 4 pages, in excellent condition.
