This reluctant sale is for my trusty Leica IIIg camera body and an excellent Leitz Simmicron 5cm f/2 prime lens. Definitely in “collector” grade.. You’ll be hard pushed to find a better condition IIIg. The Camera serial number is 955 911 so is the very first camera from a batch of 153 chrome bodies produced in 1959. The chrome work on the camera body is in what I would class as mint / mint- condition. The top plate itself and the bottom plate are both in beautiful condition – pretty much pristine. All shutter speeds sound right and fire every time. The viewfinder seems clean and clear. The vulcanite covering is in fantastic shape and complete. The shutter curtains are sound. All knobs move freely. The coated Summicron 5cm lens is also in fantastic shape. Lens serial number is 136 9603 so was manufactured in 1956. Really smooth focusing and aperture selection. Blades seem clean and sound. Lenses appear clean and clear. Comes with film take-up spool and chrome Leica lens cap. I’ll also include the original leather case (not pictured) which is in amazing condition also. All in all a great outfit for the Leica enthusiast / collector. I’m in no particular hurry to sell, though I may consider sensible offers that reflect the condition this outfit is in.
