With its original dark brown leather field case in Superb comdition. The top of the case is gold stamped with the name of the original owner. Evidently it was never used. Please view my other listings and save the site, I will be listing hundreds of Vintage cameras over the next months. Almost all of my collection is in full working and beautiful condition. The Perfex 55 was only produced for a very short time from 1939-40. And for a very short time after WWII, Because of technical problems with some of the cameras it was a commercial failure. The company was hoping to revive interest in their failing business with the Perfex De Luxe camera.. Unfortunately it was also not successful and the company went bankrupt. The Perfex 55 is very well built with a Cast Auminum Alloy body. It has an attractive “1940’s Look” making it an outstanding Vintage Collectible. Finding a full working example in beautiful condition like this one is really rare if not unique! It is interesting to note that Jack Aeby, one of the technicians, used an identical Perfex 55 with Anscochrome Color film, on July 16, 1945, to photograph the Detonation of theFirst Atomic Bomb. (photos 11 & 12). This was the only known photograph. Auctiva Free Image Hosting. The item “PERFEX 55 (1939-40)The Very Best Model.
