ITEM: Robot Camera of 1938 early build Nr. B30,026 build in Good condition, , Zeiss Jena Biotar Nr. 2247712 1938 lens, serial # is outside zeiss known range, WHY? Info from: German Robot Camera website editor. According to the cameras body number, it is the 26th example of the Robot II series!!! This series startet with the body number 30.000 in 1938. The wind up knob does not belong to this camera. He think’s the spring of the motor broke some time later and the camera got a more modern motor with a newer designed knob. The original winding knob ist fastened with a screw with two holes on top as the knob on the right side of the camera. If you look into the viewer from the side, the viewer glass should be blue at this early model. A nice collectors item for Robot freaks, if you remember there where nearly 60.000 Robot II built till 1950. The camera is really early. The lens number is one of the first 1000 Biotars for Robot made on the 14.12 1937. Description: Camera has been tested on high speed spring driven shutter, all speeds working. Viewfinder is clear in 180 and Blue filter in 90 degree, very nice. Back door latch slider missing but door lock still present and workable. Optics: Separation between 2&3 cemented pair and slight haze in rear 5&6 elements I couldn’t get apart. Otherwise I removed all elements cleaned them. Lens still has a clear image. Rarer Heinz Kilfit metal lens cap included. Body:Very good shape for 75 years old, early 1938 model VERY low serial number. Winding gear is good and shutter working, flip viewfinder is good and BLUE filter is great clarity. Insured of course when.
