This is a very clean compact Leica Camera that is synchronized for flash. The shutter speeds seem to be good by observation and sound. The viewfinder is clear. The rangefinder is extremely dim and the beam splitter needs replacing. The vulcanite covering is excellent and there is no brassing on the metal finish. I cannot see any pin holes in the shutter. There are wrinkles on the first curtain. Overall a really nice collectors camera that could use some service. By observing the overall appearance of this camera it doesn’t look like its had much use. It could use a new beam splitter if the unit is to be used with longer lenses. Wide angle and normal lenses have a good depth of field and many photographers obtain good results without the rangefinder. I will be happy to answer any questions. DESCRIPTION: Art Deco Kodak Bantam Special Camera – Designed for Kodak by Walter Dorwin Teague famous American industrial designer. Has a 45mm f/2 Kodak Ektar lens in a Supermatic shutter. CONDITION: Exterior has wear see photos. Rangefinder working with easy to see focusing patch. Lens will deliver excellent images as intended, but has dust. No scratches and no fungus. Lens is not foggy, but has a tiny bit of haze when you look with a flash light. To use, probably best to have the shutter CLA done – shutter fires on all speeds except 1 second it sticks open. The slow speeds are sluggish. Focusing smooth and aperture working. Remember, when you go to close this camera, the focus lever has to be pushed all the way up to Infinity. Look at my feedback.
