Leica M2 Rangerfinder 5cm f2 Summaron 35mm f2.8 Meter Leather Case. The camera and lenses are in very nice condition. Everything is in working order with camera and lenses. The film advance is firm and smooth. I do not have a battery to test the meter. The viewfinder is very nice with only very slight haze visible the outside front. This haze seems to be on the inside of the front rangefinder glass piece and only visible if a light is shined on it. Lenses are fine without haze or marks along with fully functioning apertures and focus. When viewed with a magnifying glass, I can see cracks in the black vinyl with marks on the metal as seen in close-up photo that includes DIN/ASA dial. A restoration of the back vinyl maybe needed in near future??? The leather Leica case is in good condition and does show wear. I highly doubt this camera has been used very often if at all. Please read the entire listing carefully. My main focus has been Leica and I have a world class collection. I dabbled in Nikon and have some Nikon rangefinder cameras, but the vast bulk is Leica. Some collectors call this a MS. It is a synched version of the M camera. This camera is a fairly early production made in 1950 and only about 1700 are know to have been produced. This camera has a 24x34mm format. The first MS serial number is generally considered to be around M6092400 and the last M6094125. This body serial number is M6092701. The lens is a Nikkor S. C 5cm f/1.4 Nippon Kogaku Tokyo. The lens dates from about 1951. You get the camera, lens, original instructions in English, Nikon 5cm f/1.4 lens shade and a Nikkor 43mm early Logo lens cap. This is a working camera so please see the condition below. The leather is stamped’Made In Occupie d Japan’ on the lower left hand area. It may be hard to see in the image. No dents or brassing. The rangefinder is working and easy to see. The rangefinder adjustment wheel on the body moves smoothly. The cameras top plate and back have matching serial numbers. The shutter material is in excellent condition. The shutter is working at all speeds. The lens has a smooth diaphragm. These is very slight oil on the blades that affects nothing. The lens glass is clean. No fungus, haze or scratches. There is just the slightest dust. The lens hood and cap are in excellent condition. There is slight paint wear on the black trim of the back. Overall cosmetic grade is ex+ or better. Very hard to find in this condition. I do not mark items as gifts or reduce values. Check out my other items.
