1939 ARGUS MODEL K 35MM CARTRIDGE CAMERA W/ f/4.5 50MM LENS – Very Rare. This example is in very good condition with only some light age related wear to the leatherette covering and light tarnish to some of the metal parts. This camera has been fully tested and is working properly except for the built in extinction meter which I cannot see anything out of. The shutter operates accurately and reliably at all speeds. T setting works most of the time, but sometimes operates the same as the B setting. Viewfinder is clean and clear. Focusing works properly and smoothly. I’m not sure how the built in extinction meter is supposed to work, but I cannot see anything out of it, even when held up to bright light. The lens is clean and clear with no major scratches, haze, fungus, or other damage. I took apart the lens and cleaned it inside and out – upon very close inspection there are some very light surface scratches to the exterior front element which will not affect photos taken with this camera. The aperture works properly. The opportunity rarely presents itself to own one of these rare Argus Model K cameras. This example is in very good original condition and in mostly good working order. The lens has been cleaned inside and out to make this camera a good candidate for photography. If the new owner intends to put this camera to work, it is up to the task.
